Stress:

plays a large part in the state of our health. Unhandled stress causes hair to get to a state where growth ceases completely. Existing hair too is damaged, and as a result, falls out.

Genetics:

This too plays a part in hair loss and baldness. One can actually inherit baldness from one’s forebears.

Age:

As one ages, one’s body functions, including hair growth, slow down. With age we generally see a thinning of hair or baldness.

Hormones:

Hormones are often a big reason for H. In men, an excess of the hormone testosterone can lead to baldness. With women, hormones released during pregnancy or at the onset of menopause can lead to hair fall.

Drugs:

Certain drugs cause nutritional deficiencies, and can affect the hair follicles. This will lead to loss of hair and premature baldness.

Nutritional Deficiencies:

A diet low in nutrition will cause low levels of essential vitamins and minerals. This can also lead to hair loss.

While age and genetics aren’t in your hands, following a healthy lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, rest and exercise can help you to counter most of the others. As for hormonal imbalances, a visit to your physician may be all that you need to find out how to correct it. Now let’s look at the vitamins that you should include in your diet for healthy hair growth.

Biotin

This is another B vitamin that helps hair growth. It is found in many over the counter hair growth products. However it is not easily absorbed through the skin, so topical applications will not be very effective.
