"I'm sure this is a fine oil but I really wanted that Almond scent, and this has no fragrance at all. "OK . that was my original review with a low rating, and I have changed my review after being contacted by the customer service. I'm afraid I was rather ignorant, and now I know better, and I apologize. I thought that almond oil smelled like almonds, but evidently that's not true - the fragrance would have to be added. This is actually marketed as a 'pure' oil and unscented, and I was careless and didn't read the ad carefully enough - I apologize again. When I research many products, sometimes I lose track of information! And I was looking at many oils that day. Anyhow, I"m using it. and adding my own fragrance, and it's indeed a nice light oil. I do recommend it after all, especially after the prompt and polite communication from the company, not at all condescending, but gracefully explaining to me the properties of the oil Thank you.
I used to keep some oils around for oil pulling, makeup removal, and for when I finally got around to making homemade products like lip balm and body creams. Unfortunately, I never used them much (as oil pulling wasn't really my thing, and I rarely wear makeup), so they went rancid. When I got a chance to purchase this product at a discount for my honest review, I knew I had to try it, and I'm glad I did! I'd gotten some cacao butter a few weeks ago, and a lady had posted a recipe with her review for a lip balm (included below) that I had to try. Next time I make these, I'll need to find some different containers than the 2oz ones I had, as I need a q-tip to get the balm out and onto my lips. If you've ever used body butter, the balm is very similar in that it's hard in the container, but melts on your lips immediately. Very silky and amazing! I also used some of this oil to make a body butter (recipe also below), which I've never made, or even used, before. It was seriously like putting a slat of butter in a hot frying pan! It's definitely very oily to start with, then my skin just soaked it up. No shining, and while I could feel it when I touched my skin, there wasn't any heaviness to notice it otherwise. Overall, I'm so glad I got this product, which I'll definitely buy again! From user dpm47Christmas All Year Lip BalmMakes 143 T. raw, organic coconut oil, warmed to liquid2 T. I bought this sweet almond oil to add to salt and sugar scrubs, and it works well in that capacity. It adds good moisturizing qualities and a pleasant almond scent. When used in scrubs, however, I have to be careful to include essential oils that are compatible with almonds. You can also use it straight from the bottle as a massage oil or as a moisturizer.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
I always used sweet almond oil, the one you buy at the supermarket on my feet. ( recommended by my manicurist) I have been having a hard time finding it at the supermarket lately. Ordered this product and am happy with it. It feels a bit lighter than the cooking almond oil. The Container is plastic which is an advantage. No danger of falling off your slippery hands and breaking! ( which happened to my daughter when I bought her sweet almond oil in a glass countainer from the supermarket. It does the job.
Very nice product. Arrived well packaged and complete. No almond smell as indicated. Feels good. I use it for my hair mostly. First time I used it for my skin it was great but then my skin was dry the 2nd time. Not sure why the difference
Use this to add to my lotion for extra moisture.
I use to remove makeup and as a pre-wash on my hair. Amazing! I will never use another makeup remover, this does a much better job and all natural, can't get any better than that.
